Devenish Nutrition races ahead with charity fundraising
Following on from the success of last year’s Point to Point races, Belfast-based animal nutrition company Devenish will host a Charity Ball and day of Point-to-Pointing from 29-30 October to raise money for Farm Africa.
Devenish, who develop and supply innovative nutritional solutions and technical expertise to the livestock feed and human health industries, has been working with Farm Africa since 2013, and in 2015 announced an official staff fundraising partnership as part of our Food for Good campaign, which brings the global food and hospitality industry together to fight poverty and hunger.
On Saturday 29 October, 300 guests will be treated to a gourmet meal designed by Michelin Starred chef Richard Corrigan at the Lands at Dowth in the heart of the historic Boyne Valley at the now sold out inaugural Devenish Charity Ball.
The following day the Point to Point & Country Fair in conjunction with Meath Hunt and Tara Harriers will take place at the Old Racecouse at Dowth, complete with six races, local artisan food markets and kids’ activities. Last year over 3,000 people attended the event, and this year numbers are expected to reach 5,000.
Devenish has already organised a series of fundraising events to support our work in eastern Africa, including a staff coffee morning and a 4,000 mile relay race to the organisation’s pig project in Uganda. Devenish owner Owen Brennan also took part in a trek in the Ethiopian highlands last year, personally raising over £30,000.
Farm Africa is very grateful to Devenish for all their support over the past three years, and looks forward to what promises to be a fantastic weekend.
