Farm Africa is delighted to be the official charity partner to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

The World's 50 Best Restaurants awards – organised and compiled by William Reed Business Media – is an annual list of the world's finest restaurants, which provides a snapshot of some of the best destinations for unique culinary experiences, in addition to being a barometer for global gastronomic trends.

The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018 awards hosted Farm Africa’s launch of the Chefs for Change movement. Spearheaded by renowned chefs Joan Roca, Eneko Atxa and Gaggan Anand, Chefs for Change unites the world’s best chefs and the world’s most remote rural communities in transforming lives through sustainable farming.

Each élite chef joining the movement has committed to act as an ambassador for a development project that transforms lives of rural food producers through sustainable farming.

Chefs for Change will follow the journeys of chefs as they travel out of the kitchen and onto farms in Africa, Asia and Latin America. They will tell the stories of the small-scale producers they meet who dedicate their lives to food production but whose potential is thwarted by poverty, environmental degradation and lack of access to markets.

Many of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants also support Farm Africa by generously contributing meals and experiences, which are auctioned at events such as the Farm Africa Gala Dinner

Leading restaurants including Dinner by Heston Blumenthal support Farm Africa by taking part in our Dine for Good campaign, which allows diners in participating restaurants to add a £1 donation to Farm Africa (or the equivalent in another currency) on to their bill. 

Top chefs and restaurateurs have supported Farm Africa in other ways, including climbing Kilimanjaro and taking part in our annual Chefs' Football Tournament.
