Supporting Ugandan women to keep goats healthy through COVID-19 pandemic

With funding from Irish Aid, Farm Africa is working to ensure that more than 100 groups of pastoralist women in Karamoja in north-eastern Uganda, are able to keep their goats healthy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Waitrose providing financial support to farmers in Kenya amid COVID-19 pandemic

The Waitrose & Partners Foundation has unlocked £200,000 from its Global Fund to protect farming communities overseas adversely affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative was launched to support its most vulnerable suppliers and provide financial aid to over 100,000 workers during this unprecedented period.

New project funded by USAID will help coffee farmers reduce the risk of volatile prices

Farm Africa announces the start of a new project, funded by USAID’s Feed the Future Partnering for Innovation programme, working in partnership with Root Capital to help coffee cooperatives in Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo reduce the risk that volatile prices in the global coffee market pose to smallholder farmers’ incomes.


Desert locust infestation threatens harvests across eastern Africa

Several communities working with Farm Africa in Ethiopia and Uganda have had crops, livestock fodder and trees destroyed in the worst desert locust invasion to hit the region in decades. Farm Africa is currently developing materials to disseminate to small-scale farmers on control methods for desert locusts.
