30 fearless cyclists take on RideLondon for Farm Africa

A team of 30 fearless cyclists took on the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 for Farm Africa, riding 100 miles through London and Surrey to raise funds to help farmers in eastern Africa.

The cyclists continued the Olympic spirit by riding the route taken on by the world’s best cyclists in the London 2012 Olympics. Starting at the Olympic Park, they rode out to Surrey’s infamous Box Hill, and came back for an iconic finish on the Mall.

After an exhausting day, the amazing cyclists gathered in Green Park for some post-cycle celebrations.

The intrepid team of cyclists had a collective aim of raising £20,000 for Farm Africa.

Well done to everybody for their fantastic effort!

The La Fosse team were formed of Lily Senior, Katherine Miller, Alex Allen and Jack Holmes . RideLondon was only training for them though as they face the gruelling task of a 4000-mile cycle from Washington DC to Los Angeles, in support of Farm Africa, in September, following the Race Across America route. One of the members is fairly new to cycling however; their last bike, before the recently purchased one, had tassels on! Good luck to them on their nine day ride.

You can sponsor their unbelievable efforts here.

 Little Hidden Farm Team

Little Hidden Farm Team Ride LondonGeoff Sayers, Chris Shaw, Giles Gibbs, Will Acworth and Tim Morse made up the Little Hidden Farm Team, who returned to ride for Farm Africa for a second year, although with a few different members. Will Acworth was our fastest rider, with a speedy time of just four hours and 36 minutes.

There’s still time to donate to them here.

Eve Hemingway Ride London

RideLondon was Eve Hemingway’s first big cycle event. She had decided that she was a cycling pro after a cycling holiday in the Netherlands. "The whole experience has been totally worth it. I wanted to raise money for a cause I believed in and challenge myself at the same time, riding with Team Farm Africa at RideLondon did just that! It's really heart-warming how supportive friends, family and colleagues have been and the atmosphere on the day was so energetic and exciting.”
