UK Food Sector executives in training for the ultimate challenge
A group of senior figures from the UK Food Sector are preparing to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest free-standing mountain on earth, this September in aid of Farm Africa. The expedition team will be taking on a gruelling eight day trek which is the equivalent of climbing Scafell Pike six times.
The team is raising funds for Farm Africa to help farmers and their families in eastern Africa to lift themselves out of poverty by growing food for their families and to sell at market.
Farm Africa Trustee and expedition member Richard Macdonald says “Farm Africa works at the grass roots with rural communities to transform lives, helping people to feed their families and become the entrepreneurs of the future. Farm Africa believes that with the right skills and technology African farmers can feed their hungry continent.” For more information about the climb and to find out how to support the team please visit www.kiliclimb-farmafrica.org.uk or contact Farm Africa on 0207 430 0440.
