Farm Africa’s response to Covid-19

Like all other organisations, Farm Africa is being affected by the global outbreak of the novel coronavirus Covid-19.

Following suspected cases of infection in the building where our head office in London is located, all UK-based staff are currently working from home.

We are open for business!

Our phone lines have been diverted and we are able to access email as usual. It is still possible to send post to the Farm Africa office. However, we apologise for any slight delays in the processing of donations received by post. We politely request that anyone wishing to donate does so online rather than by post if you are able to do so, in order to minimise any delays. We can also accept donations by credit or debit card over the phone on +44 (0)20 7430 0440 (lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm).

We are so grateful for the ongoing support from so many individuals and organisations. This will enable us to continue vital work helping communities across eastern Africa to escape poverty and build their resilience to challenges such as the climate crisis, the current locust infestation and to economic shocks brought about by the pandemic.

To date, Farm Africa’s field operations have experienced minimal disruption due to the pandemic, but this is likely to change in the coming weeks. We continue to monitor developments and will respond accordingly in order to safeguard the health and safety of our staff and the communities we work with.

We have suspended international travel by our staff, and will continue to review whether travel within our countries of operation may need to restricted.

In the UK, we are grateful to our supporters and partners for their flexibility and understanding around the rescheduling of various events including our Food for Good Dinner, which was due to take place on the evening of 18 March, and the Virgin Money London Marathon, which will now take place on 4 October.

Our Laughing Season comedy gig, which is due to take place at the Comedy Store in London on 18 May, is currently under review. In the event of postponement we will publicise a new date as soon as we can.

If you have any queries, please do not to hesitate to contact us.
