Celebrity supporters kick off Give Hunger the Boot at Work

A galaxy of stars from the worlds of sport, television and haute cuisine are donning their welly boots at work to support our campaign to help end hunger in eastern Africa, for good.

Film and TV actor Warwick Davis, England and London Wasps rugby captain James Haskell, Winter Olympic gold medalist Lizzy Yarnold, ITV weather presenter Lucy Verasamy, Sky News anchor Dermot Murnaghan, Strictly Come Dancing’s Aliona Vilani, and the well-known chefs Ainsley Harriott and Ashley Palmer-Watts are all supporting the campaign to create awareness of World Food Day, which takes place on 16 October.

It’s shocking that 239 million people in Africa are going to bed hungry tonight, many of them children. By joining the Give Hunger the Boot at Work campaign you can do your bit to help end hunger for families in eastern Africa.

It’s so easy for companies and their employees to do something simple and fun but which has a big impact on farming families in eastern Africa. All you have to do to take part in Give Hunger the Boot at Work is to wear your welly boots to work for a £2 donation, or if you’re not a welly wearer but still want to do your bit you can pay a £3 ‘welly waiver’.

Read all about this fun nationwide campaign, or simply text BOOT to 70500 to donate £2.

(Text costs donation amount plus network charge. Farm Africa receives 100% of your donation.
