Youth empowerment project is underway

Twenty groups totalling around 500 young men and women are being selected to take part in our new project in Kenya’s Trans-Nzoia East district.  Over the coming months they will be learning how to set up and run agricultural enterprises. It is hoped that this will help reduce youth unemployment and increase food production in the area.

As part of the project group members will also learn about sexual reproductive health, and in particular HIV and Aids.  A community based youth counsellor will receive the training they need in order to set up a network of peer group educators.
