Chefs' Kilimanjaro climb

The chefs at the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro The chefs at the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro

In August 2013 a group of top UK chefs and leading figures from the hospitality industry took on Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Food for Good.

Led by Michelin-starred chef Ashley Palmer-Watts, the team undertook the gruelling eight-day climb to the roof of Africa -  5,895m above sea level. They were spurred on by the knowledge they had raised over £50,000 to help farmers across east Africa end hunger - for good.

Ashley was inspired to take on this epic challenge after visiting one of Farm Africa’s projects in Kenya last year and seeing first-hand the impact our work is having on the lives of African farmers and their families.
