Farm Africa showcases carbon project at Durban climate conference

Farm Africa staff have travelled to the Durban climate conference this week to discuss its Ethiopia carbon-emissions reduction project. The project, run with an Ethiopian NGO and in partnership with the Ethiopian government, focuses on reducing carbon emissions.
Farm Africa transforming lives in Western Kenya through improved cassava

The improved cassava varieties we have introduced in Western Kenya are having an enormous impact in enabling farmers to grow healthier cassava following the devastation of more traditional varieties by the Mosaic virus. The new variety is also delivering larger harvests, with surpluses earning additional income which is used to improve living conditions.

With funding from the IKEA Foundation through AGRA, Farm Africa is supporting 50,000 farmers in Embu and Tharaka Nithi in Kenya to promote regenerative agriculture methods which build farmers’ resilience to climate extremes, improve soil health and boost yields, enabling farmers to protect their land, and their livelihoods.
