“You/Your/Yourself” means the person agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions and who is taking part in a Farm Africa Event.

“The Event” means the name of the Farm Africa event that you are registering for.

“Fee” means the ticket price or registration fee that you are required to pay to confirm your place on the Event.

Participation

1.1 You agree that you are solely responsible for Your actions and save as provided elsewhere in these terms and conditions, Farm Africa are not responsible for any injury or illness that you may suffer as a result of Your participation in the event.

1.2 The Event may be challenging and will require a good level of fitness, strength and endurance. It is Your responsibility to ensure that You have the appropriate level. Check with your doctor to ensure that You are sufficiently fit, healthy and mobile to participate in the event if You have any concerns.

1.3 You must not be dependent on drugs or have any criminal convictions in order to be accepted onto this challenge.

Bookings, Payments and Your obligations

2.1 In order to take part in the Event, You agree to pay the stated ticket price or registration fee.

2.2 By registering for this challenge you are pledging to raise the minimum sponsorship. The minimum sponsorship for a Farm Africa charity place in the Event is stated on the event page of our website (excluding gift aid). You understand that it is the aim of this challenge to raise as much above this amount as possible for Farm Africa.

2.3 You agree to pay all sponsorship monies to Farm Africa within 2 months of the Event in accordance with the payment methods notified to You by Us from time to time.

2.3 Under no circumstances can money for this event be raised for another charity or organisation.

2.4 Should you not reach the minimum sponsorship target, you agree that you will pay the balance or at the very least the cost of the charity place yourself.

2.4 Should you have to withdraw at any time, all sponsorship forms and other materials should be returned to Farm Africa. If your sponsors wish for a refund of their sponsorship money, they are asked to apply in writing to Farm Africa.

Withdrawal, Cancellations or Alterations

3.1 The Fee is non-refundable save that We may in our discretion refund the Fee in limited circumstances such as:

    1. The Event is cancelled by the venue provided that We receive a refund on sums We paid to the venue for the Event; or another reason We deem reasonable.

3.2 You acknowledge that Farm Africa tickets and event places are limited and payment of the Fee and reservation of the place has an effect on expenditure of the charity and charity income for the Event. Accordingly You may only withdraw from the Event where:

    1. Cancellations will be charged at 50% of the total up to thirty days in advance of the Event.

    2. Cancellations made after this date will be charged at the full total and no refund will be granted.

    3. In the event of a guest named on the booking form being unable to attend a Farm Africa Event, a substitution of another guest will be accepted up until the event date.

    4. In the case of events organised by third parties, such as challenge events, substitution will only be permitted if the event organiser’s terms and conditions allow.

3.3 Notice of cancellation from the Event must be communicated by emailing events@farmafrica.org. Cancellations must be agreed in writing. Date of receipt of notice will dictate whether cancellation is accepted. And whether You are entitled to a refund of the Fee in such circumstances shall be as set out in clause 3.2 above.
