Food industry leaders have joined together to raise an incredible £2 million for Farm Africa. The Food for Good network unites global food and farming businesses behind the power of food to change lives.

To mark International Women’s Day on 8 March, Farm Africa has published a snapshot summarising women’s participation in our projects in Kenya. In 2020, more than half of the people Farm Africa supported in Kenya are women. A total of 52% of the 15,520 people reached in Kenya last year were female.

New project with UN Women will empower women in Tanzania's sunflower sector

Farm Africa announces the start of a new project with UN Women under their Realising gender through empowering women and adolescent girls programme. Farm Africa will train sunflower farmers on how to access quality supplies and boost productivity to meet growing domestic demand for sunflower oil, increasing incomes for women working in the sector.

Women in coffee: working towards gender equality in Kanungu

Farm Africa has been working with female coffee farmers, coffee cooperatives and local authorities to close the gender gap in Kanungu’s coffee industry and provide women with greater autonomy at household, farm and cooperative level.
