Farm Africa at World's 50 Best Restaurant Awards

29 April 2013

Farm Africa was thrilled to be at London's glittering Guildhall tonight as the World's 50 Best Restaurant Awards unveiled its much awaited annual list for 2013.

Farm Africa has been made the Awards' chosen charity for 2013. And as the great and good of the food and hospitality world mingled in the rarified surroundings of the Guildhall's Old Library, word quickly spread that the Farm Africa canapes were a 'must try'.

The English classic of 'fish and chips' was offered with a decidely African twist: tilapia deep-fried in a coconut batter and served with cassava chips and a mango, chili and coriander salsa.

Farm Africa canapes served in front of a picture of leading UK chef, Ashley Palmer-Watts, who last year travelled to Farm Africa's Aqua Shops project in Kisumu, Western Kenya.

We were delighted to catch up with leading UK chef Ashley Palmer-Watts who last year spent a week living with a fish farmer in Western Kenya finding out more about Farm Africa's Aqua Shops Project.

Ashley will later this year lead a team from the UK's food and hospitality industry in a fundraising climb of Mount Kilimanjaro as part of Farm Africa's 'Food for Good Campaign.
