Growing Futures

Help us use our expertise to support the farmers of tomorrow.

Kenya is a youthful country. The country’s median age is 19 years, and 80% of the population is below 35 years. With nearly one in five young people of working age jobless, unemployment represents a major challenge facing the country. With little work to go around, young people are finding it increasingly difficult to make ends meet and invest in their futures.

Since 2011, Farm Africa’s Growing Futures project has supported over 3,000 young people in western Kenya to become successful farming entrepreneurs.

Your support today can help extend our Growing Futures project to reach another 2,000 young women and men. By sharing our expertise, we can help these young people learn how to earn a reliable living from their land and contribute to the economic growth of Kenya as a whole.

All donations from UK residents received by 14 January 2018 will be matched pound for pound by the UK government.

Your support will help to:
  • Provide 2,000 young farmers with face-to face training on demonstration plots.
  • Help young farmers learn about growing new, high-value crops such as French beans, mangetouts, chillies and cabbages.
  • Provide training in how to improve crop quality, so harvests meet the standards required by the export market.
  • Help groups of young farmers to set up contracts with large-scale international buyers who will pay a fair price for their produce - giving them a larger and more reliable income.
Please donate today and help 2,000 more young farmers change their lives. Donations received by 14 January 2018 will matched by the UK government!
