Help African farmers Give Hunger the Boot this autumn by taking part in The Great African Welly Walk.

From Dakar and back again via Cairo and Cape Town, Zanzibar and Zagazig.

No passports or plane tickets are required.

The idea is simple – organise a sponsored welly walk, add your miles to our route and help us walk 16,000 miles all the way around Africa.

The money you raise will be helping farmers in Africa grow more food and provide for their families. We work directly with rural communities, helping them produce more food by farming more effectively, so they can build a future free from hunger.

All you need to do is plan a sponsored walk in your wellies and add your welly miles to those of everyone else who takes part using our Welly Miles tracker website

Your walk can be simple or adventurous – it’s up to you. Perhaps once around the school playground, a lap or two of your local park or a cross country hike. Make it as long or short as you like.

How many welly miles?

Calculate your welly miles by multiplying how far you walked by the number of people taking part. If 100 people in your group complete a one-mile route, your group has walked 100 welly miles.

Enter your miles walked online you will receive a downloadable certificate with personalised map for your part of the route, to celebrate how far you walked.

Anyone can join in with The Great African Welly Walk - this site is packed full of fundraising advice and resources for schools and churches, and we can help you fundraise at work or with your friends and community.
