10-year-old cooks up fundraising success!

7 November 2013

10-year-old Madeline has been busy cooking up fundraising success for Farm Africa with a delicious cake sale at her school, the Queen’s Lower School in Chester. With a little help from mum she managed to raise a respectable £47 to help eastern Africa’s subsistence farmers.

Asked why it was important for her to do this cake sale, Madeline said:

“I did a cake sale because my mummy is always telling me that it’s bad to waste food when some people don’t have any. So I decided to sell cakes to help Farm Africa raise money and to give farmers the chance to make their own food. I enjoyed decorating the cakes and licking the bowl. But it was a good feeling when I collected all the money in the box and felt how heavy it was.”

Madeline is not the only one in her family to demonstrate a commitment to ending global hunger. Her dad, Commercial Director at Anglo Beef Production (ABP) Andrew Cracknell, has also gone above and beyond to raise money for Farm Africa, taking part in our Kilimanjaro challenge in 2012 and the Tanzania Highland Challenge this year.

Farm Africa is truly grateful to both Madeline and her family for all their hard work and commitment towards fundraising for us.
