About us

Nearly 800 million people in the world are hungry. With growing populations and climate change, food production needs to rise by some 70% over 40 years to meet demand.

That’s where Farm Africa comes in.

Although Africa struggles with famine, it possesses almost 50% of the world’s uncultivated crop land and has huge capacity for development. Farm Africa believes that Africa has the power to feed itself and that its smallholders hold the key to lasting rural prosperity. We work directly with farmers to help them unleash their potential to feed Africa’s people.

Farming not famineAbout us

We have around 170 local staff on the ground, sharing knowledge and pioneering techniques that boost harvests, sustain natural resources and help end Africa’s need for aid. We work with communities, the private sector and governments to make sure we’re finding the most effective ways to increase food production.

In 2014, we reached 1.4 million people in eastern Africa. With your help, in 2016 we’ll be even closer to ending hunger and poverty permanently.
