Thanks to a loan from the Kenyan Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF), Farm Africa’s Baraka youth group is taking a big leap forward in its farming technology. The loan will enable them to buy modern farming equipment, which will make a big difference to their cabbage farming activities. They will be able to buy two large greenhouses, a drip irrigation system, and an extensive farmer’s kit, consisting of essential equipment, resources, training and insurance.
With this package, the group will now be able to establish its activities on a much firmer footing, while also providing them with the potential to develop a successful and sustainable farming business.
Supporting youth enterprise
The loan came from the YEDF’s Agri-Vijana scheme, which aims to support enterprising young Kenyans to develop agricultural businesses through interest-free loans to buy modern farming equipment.
We hope in a later report to bring news of the impact the loan has made for the Baraka Youth Group.
