World's best chefs create exclusive tapas for Farm Africa

22 July 2015

A signature tapa dish, beef tartare with vinaigrette and anchovies, by renowned chef Dieter Koschina is currently available at Ibérica Restaurants in London with a 20% of the profits from each dish sold being donated to Farm Africa, the charity fighting hunger in eastern Africa.

Dieter Koschina, who is chef at Vila Joya, Portugal, recently named number 98 in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, commented:

“It’s an ongoing tragedy that in 2015 one in eight people worldwide still go to bed hungry  each night. I am honoured to help support the work of Farm Africa, an organisation striving to ensure that smallholder farmers in eastern Africa have enough food for their families.”

Ibérica Restaurants have gathered some of the most celebrated Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American chefs to each design an exclusive dish for ‘Great Chefs, Great Causes’ collection of signature tapas.

The tapas dishes start from just £7 and all proceeds of the profits from the menu will be shared equally amongst the chefs’ chosen charities.

The menu, which is available from 8 June – 23 August, also features secret recipe dishes from a number of listed chefs who have also chosen to support Farm Africa throughout our partnership with the World’s 50 Best Restaurants by donating an exclusive experience at their restaurants: Arzak (Spain), Asador Etxebarri (Spain), El Celler de Can Roca (Spain), MANI (Brasil), Mugaritz (Spain), Pujol (México), and Tickets (Spain).

Among the other charities chosen by the rest of chefs are Fundacion Oscobe, EtipiaUtopia, Action Against Hunger, Gastromotiva, Aspanovas and Semillation.

The dishes will be available at the following Ibérica restaurants in London: Marylebone, Farringdon and Canary Wharf in addition to Manchester, Spinningfields.

The Great Chefs, Great Causes campaign is part of Farm Africa’s wider Food For Good campaign, the UK food and hospitality industry’s response to the global challenge of hunger.
