Farm Africa pays tribute to Sir Martin Wood

Farm Africa was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Sir Martin Wood OBE FRS DL.

Sir Martin was the brother of the late Sir Michael Wood, who co-founded Farm Africa with David Campbell in 1985.

Sir Martin was appointed president of Farm Africa in 1987, and had been a very strong supporter of the organisation. We are deeply grateful for his significant contribution to the development of the charity.

Sir Martin was an engineer, having completed a Master’s degree at Cambridge. He was co-founder of Oxford Instruments plc, of which he was honorary president.

We offer our heartfelt condolences to Sir Martin’s wife Audrey, and all his family, at this sad time.
