Farm Africa was thrilled to be at London’s magnificent Guildhall last night for a glittering ceremony to unveil The World’s 50 Best Restaurants List 2014.

We were there as the official chosen charity of the prestigious World’s 50 Best Restaurants List for a second consecutive year.

Chefs and restaurant teams from Brazil to Japan had flown in to London for the red letter day in the international gastronomy calendar where a team of expert industry judges reveal their list of the world’s greatest restaurants.

We were delighted to see one of this year’s gastronomic galaticos, Ashley Palmer-Watts, who has been an incredibly strong supporter of Farm Africa over the past two years. Last August Ashley led a team of fellow chefs and restaurateurs to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, raising thousands of pounds for Farm Africa as part of its Food for Good campaign. We were also thrilled to see another Kilimanjaro climber, Paolo de Tarso who is Senior Maitre D' at London's Bar Boulud restaurant.

When Ashley is not climbing mountains for Farm Africa, the cooking supremo is Executive Head Chef at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal which this year rose two places to a dizzying fifth on the global list.

Farm Africa’s continued status as official chosen charity of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants List is testament to the strong links we have forged with the food and hospitality sectors in recent years. Food companies and the restaurant world have responded to the pressing problem of global hunger by participating in Food for Good, the charity's fundraising campaign which has so far seen the industry raise over £750,000 for Farm Africa.
