Cosine's Crazy 'Food for Good' Charity Ball raises 5K
Last weekend Cosine, one of Farm Africa’s corporate supporters, held their first ever Crazy ‘Food for Good’ Charity Ball at the Crazy Bear in Stadhampton. It was all to raise money for Farm Africa’s Food for Good campaign, an initiative that is bringing together the food and hospitality industry to help end hunger across eastern Africa, for good.

The black tie event held for Cosine’s employees, friends and family proved to be incredibly successful, raising over £5,000. On the night there was the chance to bid in a live auction, participate in game of heads and tails and the opportunity to win a top prize in the raffle which included a £100 travel voucher and 4-ball round of golf at the Chiltern Golf Club.

The evening began with a champagne reception welcoming guests to the beautiful venue. Everyone attending looked incredible and Cosine’s board director Peter Cole even commented that ‘everyone scrubbed up quite nicely!’

Peter Cole and Keith Wishart of Cosine’s board then opened the night along with Jacqui Sheldon, one of the 14 leading women in the UK food and hospitality industry who travelled to Kenya earlier on this year to dig a fish pond in Farm Africa’s ‘Dig for Good’ project.

Farm Africa’s corporate fundraiser, Jess Mattioli, also welcomed the guests and spoke a little about the charity and how the money raised on the night would go directly towards Farm Africa’s life-changing work.

After all the introductions had been made Ruth Stainton, one of the key organisers of the event, initiated a very entertaining fundraising game of Heads and Tails of which to the winner went the spoils of a bottle of champagne. Once the fun and games had ended, dinner was served and the guests enjoyed a delicious three-course traditional Thai meal.

With everyone anticipating the live auction, Cosine’s own Stewart Wells and Keith Wishart took to the stage as co-auctioneers to kick off the night’s grand finale of fundraising. With fourteen incredible prizes on offer, ranging from a BMW racing day, Manchester United tickets and a number of dinners at Michelin-starred restaurants, Cosine managed to raise an incredible £3,600 from the auction alone.

Farm Africa would like to say a very big thank you to Cosine for throwing their first ever gala ball in aid of Farm Africa, and in particular to Ruth Stainton and Laura Kerley of Cosine for their incredible dedication and hard work in hosting and organising the event. It was a truly spectacular evening enjoyed by all.
