Farm Africa named a London Coffee Festival charity partner

Farm Africa is delighted to have been chosen as a partner for this year’s London Coffee Festival, a four-day event celebrating London’s bustling and vibrant coffee scene.

Running from 20 to 23 April 2023, the festival boasts a capacity of 35,000 people and will feature over 250 coffee companies and exhibitors, including artisan coffee and gourmet food stalls, tastings, demonstrations from world-class baristas and music.

Farm Africa is one of two charity partners, alongside Project Waterfall, for the event and will benefit from selling official London Coffee Festival tote bags from a stand at the show.

Aside from raising funds, the partnership provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase our coffee projects in eastern Africa that help smallholder farmers to improve the quality, quantity and value of the coffee they produce, while protecting the local environment and reducing deforestation.

Farm Africa CEO, Dan Collison, who will also be speaking as part of the event’s live schedule of talks, commented, “We are thrilled to be named one of London Coffee Festival’s charity partners. Coffee farmers in eastern Africa face many obstacles, from climate shocks to unpredictable prices. Female coffee farmers are most disadvantaged. Farm Africa works to give coffee farmers, particularly women, the support they need to thrive, not just survive. We’re looking forward to sharing stories of coffee’s journey from bean to cup with London’s coffee lovers.”

Farm Africa works with coffee farmers in Ethiopia, Uganda and DRC, where some of the world’s best coffee is grown. However, many coffee farmers earn less than $1 a day. Andrew Reed, London Coffee Festival, added, “We are very proud to be partnering with Farm Africa at this year’s London Coffee Festival. It’s a perfect fit for our values – supporting coffee farmers across eastern Africa to build profitable livelihoods and protect the local environment”.

The London Coffee Festival will be held at The Truman Brewery on Brick Lane in London. Find out more and book your tickets here:
