About Farm Africa's 'Coffee is life' appeal

Your donation could make an even bigger impact during our 'Coffee is life' appeal, as all donations from the UK general public will be matched by the UK government. Please find out more information about the appeal below:

What are the start and end dates of Farm Africa's 'Coffee is life' appeal?

Farm Africa's 'Coffee is life' appeal starts on 8 February 2019 and finishes on 8 May 2019.

What donations are matched by the UK government?

Donations to the Coffee is Life appeal from the UK public, including foundations and philanthropic organisations, made by 8 May 2019 will be matched. Donations from private companies will not be matched.

Will my regular donation be matched?

Your regular donation will be matched for three months if you are a new donor and start your regular donation during the appeal period (8 February - 8 May 2019). For example, if you start a regular donation on 7 May 2019, your donations during May, June and July will be matched.

However, if you are an existing donor, your regular donations won't be matched unless you increase your regular donation in response to the appeal. In this case, the additional amount will be matched during the appeal period. For example, if you increase your monthly donation at the start of your appeal from £10 to £30, the difference will be matched for three months (£20 x 3 months = £60). If you increase your amount on 7 April, the difference will be matched for two months.

Will Gift Aid be matched with my donation?

You can add Gift Aid to your donation, although it won't be eligible to be matched. Find out more about how Gift Aid works here: https://www.farmafrica.org/donation-enquiries/gift-aid-explained

How will the money raised by the 'Coffee is Life' appeal be used?

Public donations to Farm Africa’s Coffee is Life appeal will be doubled by the UK government. Public donations will help farmers across eastern Africa run profitable businesses. Matched funds will give marginalised women in Kanungu, Uganda the opportunity to make a decent living from coffee farming.
