Try out these foodie fundraising ideas to help you hit your fundraising target and get people talking about Farm Africa and Live Below the Line.
On a £1 a day budget, you will have around 33p to spend on each meal. You could host a dinner party for your friends and family where each person's meal costs 33p. Ask guests to make a donation of a set price (say £10 per head), or donate what they would normally spend on a meal out.
This is a great opportunity to have some poignant discussions about the challenge, Farm Africa’s work and how together we can make a difference and help end hunger for Africa’s farmers.
Hold an auction of promises with a foodie twist. Ask friends and colleagues to donate a promise - and let the bidding begin.
You could even do this idea as a "virtual fundraiser" by creating a Facebook group and inviting your friends to submit silent bids via private messages.
An oldie but a goodie. Ask everyone to bake and donate cakes, buns and biscuits and then sell them – it’s amazing how much flour power can raise. If you think you will be too tempted by the sweet treats you could hold your bake sale before or after challenge week.
You could sell cakes for £1 each, or have signs showing how much the cakes cost to make. This can be a really powerful way to make people think about how many they could afford if they were living on £1 a day.
