Superfood Challenge information and resources

Is your school taking on the Superfood Challenge? We have everything you need to help you plan your challenge and make it a success!

First things first, pick one activity from each category, and combine them to create your school’s very own challenge.  Or if you prefer, you can come up with your own ideas to help your pupils EAT, THINK and DO super things. Maybe your pupils will have some suggestions too?

EAT

TRY A NEW VEGETABLE
Or even a new fruit. How daring will you be? What new foods will you discover?

MAKE A SWEET POTATO RECIPE
Invite family or friends to help you eat it, or bring it to school to sell. What tasty treats can you make?

EAT ‘FIVE A DAY’ FOR A WEEK
Download a daily diary from our website and keep track of how many fruit and vegetables you eat.

THINK

GET STUDYING FOR THE SUPERFOOD SUPERBRAIN QUIZ
Download questions suitable for all ages! Who will be the class champion?

CREATE SWEET POTATO PRINT ART
Or just ordinary potato prints if you prefer? Invite friends and family to an art exhibition where they can view your creative efforts.

TAKE ON THE SUPERFOOD SUPERSPELL
Visit our website to download age appropriate spellings for pupils to learn. Who will wow with their spelling skills?

DO

DO A SUPERFOOD SUPERSTROLL
Get your class exercising together. Why not go for a good, long walk one lunchtime? Do it in wellies if you like!

SWEET POTATO RELAY RACE
Take all the children outside for relay races using a sweet potato as the baton. It’s a great way to get fit and have fun.

SUPERFOOD SUPERSTARS
Get exercising in the playground with a series of superfood sports challenges – including a sweet potato relay, and the sweet potato and spoon race.

When you have chosen your activities, write them on your sponsorship form (PDF 0.2MB) before making a copy for each pupil taking part so they can ask friends and family to donate. Your pupils can use their Eat, Think, and Do stickers (which you can request using this form) to show when each part of the challenge is complete.

You can download the resources you need for pupils to complete their challenge below.
