Great African Welly Walk

How far could your school walk to help African farmers give hunger the boot? From Cairo to Cape Town? Zanzibar to Zagazig?

Will your school take part in The Great African Welly Walk? The idea is simple: schools across the UK hold sponsored walks in their wellies and tell us how many miles they walked. Together, we're aiming to walk 16,000 miles - all the way around Africa!

You can walk around the playground, over the school field or go on a cross-country hike – it’s up to you. And you can enter your total miles walked using our Welly Miles Tracker. You can then download your certificate, which will be personalised with the section of the route your school walked.

We have everything you need to help you organise a sponsored walk in your wellies. You can also download our teaching resources to help your students learn more about food, farming, and Africa.

Don’t forget to tell us about your fundraising plans so we can offer you help and advice. If you send us photos of your welly fundraising, you might even see your school appear in our fundraisers hall of fame.

If you have any further questions about fundraising for Farm Africa, or to order your stickers and DVD, please contact us on or 020 7430 0440.
