Livery show raises over £400 for Farm Africa

This spring, Friends of Farm Kent and East Sussex and Equine Excellence came together to run the Cherry Garden Livery Spring Show, a fun family day out filled with classes, competitions and cake!

Friends of Farm Kent and East Sussex group have been raising money for Farm Africa for over thirty years - and the Cherry Garden Livery Spring Show is the latest in a series of fantastic events.

With perfect, sunny weather, the day couldn't have gone better. Event organiser Lucia Arpino and a host of volunteers set up at Fairlight, in East Sussex, where they were joined by over 60 competitors, who paraded their horses and dogs, earning rosettes and trophies for all their hard work and showmanship.

We are delighted that our little event raised £402 altogether for Farm Africa.  I have had no end of compliments and praise after the show and comments such as, 'when's the next one' and, 'you must do one again soon we had a great day' which is always reassuring to hear. I am so relieved it ran accordingly and we raised vital funds for Farm Africa. Thank you for letting us be a part of helping a very worthy cause and I really hope we have made a difference. Hopefully we can do more in the future.

With trade stalls, a tea room and the all-important cake stand, the whole day ran smoothly and raised £402 for Farm Africa!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered and took part in the events on the day, and in particular to Lucia Arpino for organising the show. Every penny raised will help Farm Africa to continue to work in eastern Africa, growing a brighter future for farming families.
