David and Pam Sydenham raise £500 for Farm Africa

David and Pam Sydenham are two of our newest Friends of Farm, and they’ve already shown that they’re fantastic friends to have – with two events under their belts they’ve dedicated a huge amount of time and effort to fundraising for communities in eastern Africa.

Not only did they help to organise a plant sale in May, raising over £370, but this August they organised a barbecue and skittles evening in their barn to raise even more money for Farm Africa.

Inviting friends over on a warm August evening, David and Pam heated up their barbecue and served up a full meal to every ticketholder. Entertainment was provided by their traditional skittles alley and a camel racing game, complete with a cameo from a real life pantomime camel!

David and Pam raised £477 on the night, with a generous donation from friends Carol and Mike bringing the total up to an impressive £500.

Farm Africa’s Community Fundraising Manager, Sarah Goddard, said:

“On behalf of the communities we work with in eastern Africa, I’d like to thank David and Pam for organising two fantastically successful events this year. I truly loved seeing the photos of their community coming together to have an enjoyable evening. I especially loved seeing the photos of their guest of honour – the pantomime camel! The money they have raised will truly help to change the lives of farmers in Africa. Thank you again for your support.”
