Cosine keeps going

Cosine’s employees are at it again – taking on crazy physical challenges to fundraise for Farm Africa! On Saturday the 21st September Cosine’s Accreditation Account Co-ordinator, Lauren Grose has organised for her and three of her Cosine colleagues - Chris Thomas; People Learning and Development Executive, Charles Lienard; Market Analyst for Europe and Sarah Mann; Own Brand Sainsburys Sampler - to travel to Wales to take on the South West Tough Mudder Challenge.

Tough Mudder isn’t just a challenge – it’s a 12 mile obstacle course designed to test all challengers and take them to their physical and mental limits. Lauren and her colleagues will take on gruelling hill climbs, dive into ice baths, make their way through fire pits, scale 12 foot walls and endure electrocution all in the name of raising money for Farm Africa. Did we mention they’ll be caked in mud from head to toe?

Yet, Lauren is no stranger to fundraising and taking on challenges in aid of Farm Africa. Lauren cycled 65 miles from London to Oxford on one of the hottest days this year in July to fundraise for us. It took her six hours to complete this incredible cycling test but mentioned she “was elated at the finish line.” Her goal is to raise a staggering £1,500 for Farm Africa – she’s nearly there just passing the £1,300 mark!

When asked what inspired her to raise money for Farm Africa, Lauren said:

“I've previously considered doing voluntary work for charities in Africa, but I've never set my mind on one as there are so many to choose from and so many people to help. Being part of Cosine has given me the link with Farm Africa, and Farm Africa’s work has inspired me and given me the push to fundraise. To say that I have helped give hunger the boot will make me feel extremely proud.”

Lauren has been a key fundraiser within Cosine’s office as well – she’s helped organise harvest cake sales, car washing in the office car park, jacket potato Fridays, car boot sales and next on the horizon is a planned pasta lunch for colleagues – all to raise money for Farm Africa.

Lauren’s dedication to raising money for Farm Africa is truly inspiring! Lauren has asked:

“If you would like to sponsor me, this great charity and the hard work I have put in through various challenges and fundraising activities, please visit my Virgin Money giving page at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/FarmAfricaLaurenGrose Thank you for your support in advance. Every single penny is extremely appreciated by many people.”

Farm Africa is truly grateful to Lauren and her Cosine colleagues for their unwavering commitment to fundraise on our behalf.
